What?

The website for the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) Australian Rail Risk Model (ARRM). Registered users may browse and query the ARRM.

The ARRM is a model of safety risk on Australian Railways (excluding light rail, heritage railways and cane railways), built around hazardous events that occur on Australian Railways. Its risk estimates are informed by reports on occurrences provided by the Australian Rail Industry.

Why?

The ARRM has been developed for the Australian Rail Industry. For Rail Transport Operators (RTOs), the ARRM allows them to examine rail safety risk for their operations and to compare their rail safety risk with an aggregation of other RTOs. For other users, the ARRM allows them to examine rail safety risk at the National level.

The purpose of the ARRM is to assist the industry in understanding current levels of rail safety risk and, longer term, to understand trends in rail safety risk and to assist with making safety-related decisions, e.g. on safety improvements.

Who?

The ARRM has been developed by RGB Assurance for the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB).

If your organisation does not have access to the ARRM, please register your interest by contacting ARRM@rissb.com.au.
